Wita Simatupang is the Executive Director of INDECON. Trained as an architect (ITB) and development planner (UCL), she was drawn to ecotourism through a visit to Candirejo village near Borobudur. Today she works with communities across Indonesia to shape tours that let visitors experience local culture on the community's own terms, acting as an interpreter between the two.
