Danau Sentarum merupakan hutan tropis tergenang musiman yang terdiri dari hutan tropis dataran rendah di perbukitan dan hutan rawa gambut tergenang di dataran rendah dan merupakan daerah resapan air utama di Kalimantan Barat.
